My name is Mah Begum and I have been teaching children in Grades 1 to 5 for eleven years. Every child who has sat in my classroom has left it more confident, more curious, and more capable than when they arrived — and that is the only goal I bring to every single lesson.

MY TEACHING METHOD AND TECHNIQUES
─────────────────────────────────
I believe that children learn best when they feel safe, seen, and genuinely interested in what they are doing. My teaching is built on three principles:
1. Structure first. Children at primary level need clear routines and predictable lesson shapes. I open every session with a short warm-up that activates prior knowledge, move into direct teaching with visual supports and real examples, then give the child guided and independent practice before we close with a reflection. This rhythm helps children feel in control of their learning.
2. Differentiation always. No two children learn at the same pace or in the same way. I adapt my explanations, my materials, and my pace to match each individual child — whether they need more time, a different analogy, a visual diagram, or a hands-on activity to make something click.
3. Encouragement throughout. I use positive reinforcement, specific praise, and gentle correction. I never make a child feel embarrassed for not knowing something. Getting things wrong is part of learning, and I make sure every child in my care knows that.
I integrate interactive digital tools — including virtual whiteboards, visual flashcards, and gamified quizzes — to keep sessions lively and engaging for young learners who are used to learning through screens.

A TYPICAL LESSON
───────────────────
A standard 45–60 minute session with me looks like this:
• Warm-up (5–8 min): A short activity to activate prior knowledge — a quick quiz, a word game, a mental maths challenge, or a phonics drill depending on the subject.
• Direct teaching (15–20 min): I introduce or revisit the concept using clear explanations, worked examples, and visuals. I check understanding by asking questions throughout — not at the end.
• Guided practice (10–15 min): We work through problems or tasks together. The child tries; I guide and correct in real time.
• Independent practice (10–15 min): The child applies what they have learned independently while I observe, note gaps, and offer targeted support.
• Wrap-up and review (5 min): We summarise the lesson, celebrate progress, and I set a small task to consolidate learning before the next session.
Every lesson ends with a brief note to parents on what we covered and what to practise at home.

WHAT SETS ME APART
───────────────────────────
Most online tutors teach one or two subjects. As a trained Cambridge Primary Homeroom Teacher, I am fully qualified and experienced to teach English Language, Mathematics, Primary Science, and Social Studies — all four core subjects — to the same child. This means I understand how the subjects connect, how a child's literacy level affects their Science and Maths performance, and how to support the whole learner rather than just one topic.
I also bring eleven years of real classroom experience — not just tutoring experience. I have written full Cambridge schemes of work, managed assessment and reporting cycles, supported EAL and SEN learners, and built strong relationships with hundreds of families over the years. That depth of experience shows in every session.
And I genuinely love this age group. Primary years — ages 5 to 12 — are when children form their identity as learners. Getting it right at this stage matters enormously, and I take that responsibility seriously.

WHO THESE LESSONS ARE FOR
─────────────────────────
My lessons are designed for:
• Children aged 5 to 12 (Grades 1 to 5 / Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2)
• Students following the Cambridge Primary, British, or Pakistani national curriculum
• Children who are behind and need patient, structured catch-up support
• Children who are on track but want to go deeper and build real confidence
• EAL learners whose first language is Urdu, Arabic, or another language — I am fluent in both English and Urdu and can bridge language gaps with ease
• Children preparing for Cambridge Primary Checkpoint assessments
• Homeschooled children who need a qualified teacher to cover core subjects
• Families based in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Pakistan, or anywhere in the world who want quality Cambridge-aligned tuition online
Whether your child is struggling with reading, falling behind in Maths, or simply needs a warm and experienced teacher to guide them through the school year — I am here, and I would love to help.
