About Blair
If you're nervous about reaching out, don't be. There's no such thing as a question that's too basic, and you won't be judged for where you're starting from. A lot of the people I work with come in feeling behind or overwhelmed; and leave a session realizing the material was never as far out of reach as it felt. My job is to make the hard parts feel manageable, one step at a time. The first conversation is free and low-pressure: we'll just talk about what you're working on and whether I'm the right fit. No commitment beyond that.

I hold a Master of Arts in International Affairs (Security and Defense Policy) from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, and I'm a Royal Military College graduate and former Canadian Armed Forces officer. My research record includes twelve peer-reviewed publications and work cited in NATO strategic communications.
I tutor university and adult learners in political science, international relations, security and strategic studies, and academic writing and research methods — from first essays to thesis-level work. I also teach Latin for beginners and intermediate readers.
My approach is structured and patient. I care less about getting you to the "right answer" and more about helping you build arguments that hold up: how to frame a question, find the evidence, and write clearly under pressure. Whether you're tightening a paper, prepping for an exam, or finally making sense of a dense reading, I'll meet you where you are and work from there.
I tutor online (and in person around Ottawa), and I'm happy to start with a short conversation about what you're working toward.
