About Alfie
I believe that learning music should be enjoyable, inspiring, and rewarding. As a Flute tutor with 12 years of teaching experience, I work with school and college students to help them build strong musical foundations.
My lessons begin with breathing techniques, posture, finger placement, rhythm, scales, and tone development before progressing to articulation, expression, and stage performance. I encourage students to practice consistently and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small. One of the happiest moments in my career has been seeing students gain confidence and perform successfully.
Along with flute, I also teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, beginner keyboard basics, and performance preparation. My aim is to help every student enjoy music while becoming a skilled and confident musician.

My flute teaching approach is designed to build both technical ability and artistic expression. I use Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity to help students become skilled and confident musicians.
Students begin by learning breathing techniques, posture, finger exercises, rhythm, note reading, and tone production. As they improve, lessons include articulation, scales, ornamentation, improvisation, dynamics, and concert preparation.
Motivation encourages students to enjoy every achievement. Communication remains friendly and supportive throughout every lesson. Integrity helps me maintain honesty, fairness, patience, and professionalism.
Creative methods include favorite songs, rhythm activities, duet performances, listening practice, ear training, simple improvisation, and performance opportunities. Along with flute, I teach recorder, beginner keyboard, music theory, sight reading, rhythm training, and music appreciation.
