About Jodie
Hi, I’m Jodie - a performing arts specialist and educator with over five years of professional experience working with students of all ages, from primary right through to adults.
I have a BA (Hons) in Drama and Performance and trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Most recently I spent three years as Head of Performing Arts at Colour My World, where I led a team of teachers, directed original productions and coached students towards consistently high results in their Trinity College London examinations, including multiple Distinctions and Merits.
My sessions are warm, structured and genuinely enjoyable - I believe learning happens fastest when students feel safe, seen and engaged.

My approach
Every student is different, and I teach accordingly. My sessions are always tailored to the individual — their age, their goals, their confidence level and how they learn best. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to performing arts education, and I take time at the start of every new student relationship to understand what they actually need before we begin.
How I teach
My sessions draw on a range of techniques depending on the student and the goal. For younger students and beginners, I use games, creative exercises and improvisation to build confidence and enjoyment first, because a student who is having fun learns faster and retains more. As students progress or work towards specific qualifications, sessions become more structured, incorporating script work, performance technique, exam preparation and detailed one to one feedback and coaching.
For Trinity College London and LAMDA candidates specifically, I work through the mark scheme in detail so students know exactly what is being assessed and why, building both competence and confidence going into the exam room.
Lesson length
I offer flexible lesson lengths to suit the age and needs of each student. Younger primary age students typically work best in shorter focused sessions of around 30 to 45 minutes, while older students and adults generally benefit from a full hour. I am happy to discuss what works best for your child before we begin.
Who my lessons are for
I work with students aged 5 to adult across Trinity College London and LAMDA exam preparation, drama and theatre, English and literacy, and confidence and communication. I have experience supporting students with additional learning needs and am used to adapting my approach to make sure every student feels comfortable and able to progress.
Qualifications and experience
BA (Hons) Drama and Performance, University of the Highlands and Islands. Trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Three years as Head of Performing Arts at Colour My World. Consistent track record of Distinctions and Merits at Trinity College London. Over five years teaching students of all ages individually and in groups, in person and online.
