- My Approach to Tutoring - I tailor my lessons to the individual needs of each student, ensuring they feel confident and engaged in the learning process. My approach is student-centred, meaning I focus on developing their critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills rather than just memorising information. I break down complex ideas into clear, accessible explanations, encouraging discussion and independent thought. - Teaching Methodology & Lesson Structure - Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, but I can adjust the length based on the student's needs. I use a mix of discussion, guided exercises, and feedback-based learning, ensuring students actively engage with the material. I help students develop strong essay-writing skills, structure arguments effectively, and refine their analytical thinking. For younger students or those struggling with confidence, I focus on building a supportive and encouraging learning environment. - Qualifications & Experience - BA Hons in English Literature from Queen Mary, University of London, with a strong background in Humanities subjects. Completed the M7 pre-clinical course at the Tavistock, which deepened my understanding of child development and psychology. Currently completing a psychoanalytic baby observation, giving me insight into early learning and cognitive development. Extensive experience working in schools, supporting students across different age groups and abilities. Experience working with GCSE, A-Level, and university-level students, helping them improve essay writing, literary analysis, and exam technique. Experience in one-on-one tutoring and group teaching, adapting to different learning styles. - Who My Lessons Are For - Primary & 11+ students who need support with English comprehension, creative writing, and exam preparation. GCSE, IB & A-Level students needing support with English, History, or Humanities subjects. University students looking to refine their essay-writing and critical analysis skills. Anyone looking to improve their writing, comprehension, or confidence in English and Humanities subjects.
