My lessons are fully asynchronous and materials-based, designed for students who want clear structure, targeted strategy, and flexibility without the pressure of live tutoring sessions. This format is informed by my own experience preparing for and taking standardized tests, including earning a 1580 on the SAT, which required not only strong content knowledge but also efficient strategy, time management, and a deep understanding of how the test is structured.
The process begins with a written intake, where the student shares their current score range (if available), target score, test date, specific weaknesses, and study habits. Based on this information, I create a customized study plan that outlines what to study, how to study, and how to prioritize different topics over time. Rather than generic schedules, the plan is tailored to the student’s timeline and focuses on high-impact areas that lead to the greatest score improvement.
In addition to the study plan, I provide strategy guidance drawn from real test experience, including how to approach common SAT question types, avoid frequent traps, manage time effectively, and make decisions under pressure. When helpful, I also recommend specific types of practice problems and explain how to review mistakes productively, so students can learn efficiently rather than simply doing more problems.
All communication and feedback are handled in writing, allowing students to revisit explanations and strategies at any time. This approach works especially well for motivated students who want a clear roadmap, practical insight from someone who has successfully navigated the SAT, and a calm, organized framework they can follow independently.
