About Tejas

My name is Tejas, and I’m a college math student myself. I love making complex things simple. I can teach you anything in just three parts: identifying the gaps you need to fill in your knowledge, explaining things in an easy-to-understand manner, and practicing the types of questions you will be required to answer in your homework and exams. Most of my lessons are geared towards middle school and high school students from Algebra to Calculus looking to improve their grades and fundamentals.

Hello! I’m Tejas. My approach to tutoring is straightforward: get concepts to “click” fast, then solidify them through practice before test time.

**Teaching Method and Techniques**

Diagnosing first: We see where things go wrong—concept gaps, algebra mistakes, or how you read the problem.

Explain "why," then "how": "Explain the why first, then the how": I explain the "why," then explain "how" in simple terms and then in the standard way that your

Pattern recognition: I help you quickly see “this is that kind of problem,” so you don’t guess what to do.

"Guided" to "independent" - We do a few examples together, and then you do them on your own while I guide your thoughts and correct your errors as you go.

-A sample lesson plan

Quick check-in (3-5 minutes): What's coming up? Quiz, test, homework? What was the hardest part of the week?

Warm-up problem: 5 min: A problem to illustrate the missing information.

Targeted teaching (10-15 minutes): Explanation + a rule to determine what to use when.

Guided Practice (15-20 min): Here, we'll solve 2-3 key problems.

Independent practice (15-20 min): You work on the activity, and I intervene only when necessary. Then, we review the activity briefly.

Wrap-Up (3-5 minutes): Recap of the main idea, as well as a plan of what to practice next.

-What sets me apart as a tutor:

Being clear without fluff: I’m a patient person, and I don’t waste my time. Every single minute has a purpose.

Multiple explanations: If one approach doesn’t land, I’ll reframe it visually, intuitively, and step-by-step until it clicks.

Confidence-building structure: At the end of every lesson, you will have a clear sense of what you have learned and what to do next with what you have learned.

Focus on Independence: My goal for you is not to memorize procedures or rely on me in the future; my goal is for you to rely on your own understanding.

- Who the lessons are for

My lessons are most appropriate for students interested in improving their skills in mathematics and other quantitative fields, including:

Middle school math and foundational skills

High School: Algebra 1/2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus (AB/BC)

Intro college-level math/stats (varies depending upon course and topics)

- Maybe you want a better grade, test prep, or want to grasp a concept that’s been fuzzy in your previous learning, I’m here to meet you where you are and help you improve from that point!
