About Valerie

Bonjour! I’m a native French speaker from Montreal, now living in Toronto, and French has been a part of my life since day one. I grew up fully immersed in the language, consistently ranked at the top of my French classes, and earned several awards for excellence. With experience helping over 100 students of all levels—from absolute beginners to advanced speakers—I know how to make learning French fun, effective, and tailored to your goals. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, improving your fluency, or just starting out, I’ll guide you every step of the way.

About the lesson

I offer a free consultation to create a personalized learning plan and identify the areas you’d like to improve. In a typical lesson, we’ll cover essential theory such as grammar and vocabulary, followed by practical exercises and real-life dialogue to apply what you’ve learned. I also provide tailored homework and resources to help you practice and progress between lessons.

I’ve known Valerie for over 10 years and she clearly is a devoted very engaged person. She is extremely creative so finding the right way to help and teach a variety of personalities will be no obstacle to her. Her mind is constantly seeking stimulation… She taught me how to play the piano and guitar as well as reading music sheets while we were still kids! In high school, Val taught me how to ski, snowboard and skateboard. She truly is full of surprises! Throughout the years, I firmly believe that Valerie made me a better person. Valerie has a passionating background with experiences that make her a great teacher and an amazing friend I always can count on.

100% recommend!!
