About Xuannghia
I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Tasmania, based in Launceston. Before I arrived here, I was a university lecturer in Hanoi, Vietnam. I taught English as a foreign language to university and school students. I also worked as an English curriculum developer and testing and assessment specialist in a few local primary schools. I am familiar with different teaching modes and methodologies. And as my current research project is focused on writing pedagogies in Tasmanian schools, I have strengthened my pedagogical skills by engaging widely and deeply with research evidence.

My current research project is investigating the teaching and learning practices of persuasive writing at Tasmanian schools. As part of this project, I have been and will be engaging deeply with the Australian curriculum: English and my familiarity with the NAPLAN test will also improve as my project progresses. So I will be able to help interested students with their writing skills and prepare them for the persuasive writing task of the NAPLAN test.
