About David
As a PhD graduate, I have extensive experience working with students in higher-level education, running tutorials and writing workshops, as well as lecturing on a variety of topics. I want to apply this teaching at a secondary school level and already have some experience doing this, running university lesson taster sessions for local schools in Liverpool.

I believe in setting out goals for students, giving different tasks to complete, but also in building up a rapport and developing students' knowledge as a collaborative student-teacher interaction.
Lessons would typically be 45 minutes, as I think this is the ideal length for maintaining concentration.
As well as having a PhD and MA in Writing, I have a BA in English, and am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. The latter qualification means that I am qualified to teach at a university level.
I am willing to teach at all second level age groups.
