About Anton
I am a current MD-PhD graduate student at Columbia University VP&S with an extensive background in science. I am pursuing a dual degree towards a career as a physician-scientist with clinical interests in anesthesia and research interests in immunology. I earned my Bachelor's in Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry. In my four years at UW-Madison, I earned a 4.0 GPA and graduated with top honors. During undergrad, I worked as a General Chemistry tutor for three years. I also worked as a Biochemistry & Organic Chemistry teaching assistant for two years, and I held office hours twice a week with self-made practice sets and explanations. In high school, I taught Pre-Calculus and Calculus A & B.

Lesson plan always includes active learning, which includes:
1. engaging students with material by discussion
2. working through problem sets and practice questions
3. having students conduct teach-back to reinforce concepts
Instead of rote memorization or passive learning by reading, I focus on students working through the material with practice problems and trying to explain the concepts in their own words. This increases retention of material for students and makes learning easier.
