About Katie
I have a PhD in Music Theory from the University of Western Ontario. I specialize in the analysis of Classical and Romantic music. I have taught theory at the university level as well as privately for many years. I have helped students prepare for RCM examinations in rudiments, harmony, counterpoint, and analysis as well as tutored and taught those working on university music theory courses.

Music theory requires practice and discipline. Music is a language and therefore requires learning the basics before we can start to build the sentences! I prefer to teach theory one-on-one so I can go at your pace and focus on your specific strengths and weaknesses.
