About Thiago
*Who I am* I’m Thiago, a final-year Physics PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, specialising in cosmology. My research involves advanced mathematics and data analysis applied to understanding the Big Bang. I’ve been a university teaching assistant for more than eight years—since my undergraduate studies—and have taught courses ranging from MSc-level modules (General Relativity, Quantum Mechanics) to first-year mathematics and statistics. *Why I teach* I love maths and physics, and I know how challenging they can feel at first. What excites me is seeing the “lightbulb moment” when a student realises a difficult topic finally makes sense. I believe anyone can learn anything with the right guidance. *My approach* Lessons are tailored to your goals—whether that’s moving up a grade boundary, preparing for an exam, or strengthening fundamentals for university. I use a structured yet friendly style, plenty of practice with past papers, and I’m available online between lessons if questions come up. *1st conversation* The first consultation is free and online. We’ll discuss your goals, assess your current level, and build a tailored study plan. After that, lessons are structured and focused—and I’m available online between lessons to answer questions so you’re never stuck. I’m also happy to keep in touch with parents and provide brief progress feedback (e.g., after sessions or via a monthly summary) if needed.
