About Sam
Hello! I am a dedicated and approachable tutor specialising in Sociology and Criminology, offering tailored support for GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate students. With a strong academic background and a passion for social sciences, I aim to make complex theories accessible, engaging, and relevant to everyday life. I have a 2:1 in BA Criminology and Sociology, a Distinction in MSc Criminal Investigation, and am currently undertaking a research council funded PhD in Criminology. I also studied Sociology at GCSE and A-level.

My tutoring style is student centred and flexible. I will adapt to your learning needs whether you're preparing for exams, tackling coursework, or simply trying to deepen your understanding. I have an understanding of different learning styles as well as neurodiversity and will use this knowledge to appropriately tailor sessions to each individual. A typical session may involve a short quiz or discussion to refresh on key concepts, a short presentation on the core concept being studied, case studies and real world application as well as theoretical application discussion, skills practice by supporting through the planning of an exam style question, and discussions on what topics to cover next.
