About Hugo
I am a PhD student based in London with a long history of studying, playing, listening to and generally loving music of all kinds - indeed, so much so it's become a key part of my thesis on pop music soundtracks in German cinema.
Having studied Music to Bachelor level, I can offer music theory tuition at both GCSE and A-level. Previously, I worked with two groups of three A-level students looking at the set works of the Edexcel syllabus, helping to raise their grades from predicted Bs to achieved As and A*s.

I pride myself on a strong rapport with my students, and encourage their learning through a focus and approach revolving around their core interests. I often find music to be such a passionate subject for those studying it that I have found this very easy to achieve, and certainly given my experience of teaching core material for A-level music syllabuses, I am more than confident in engaging students' learning and interest to go beyond the curriculum and inspire a deeper insight into the subject.
