About Milen
I genuinely love reading and writing. As a graduate of Philosophy from UCLA, I've found that it's really enhanced my ability to be a critical thinker and examine not only the text I read in a way that produces a perspective that's unique to me, but also the world as a whole. I've worked with students on their writing over the past 3 years and I enjoy nothing more than seeing a student with improved critical thinking, comprehension, and communication skills as a result of our work together. I believe these skills are essential not only within the classroom setting, but also in our larger world where we strive to be better people for ourselves and for others.

My teaching method leads with the notion that there is no right or wrong when it comes to a perspective that one is trying to convey through their writing. It's very important to me to emphasize to each student how unique their thoughts, feelings, and voice are to give them the confidence to express themselves freely in their writing while also giving them the tools to do so. Each person has a different style of learning and I prioritize taking time to gauge a students learning needs in order to create the best learning experience for them.
