About Ellis
I got A*s in my English literature and language GCSEs and an A* in English literature at A Level.
My philosophy degree requires me to critically evaluate pieces of texts and arguments, and to express myself precisely and eloquently. These are very important skills that you need when reading and analysing literature, and when writing your own arguments or creative pieces.
I have tutored in the past, also in other subjects, and love helping people to reach their potential.

My teaching method is very holistic and I evaluate what each student individually needs help with.
I will spend the sessions practicing essay writing skills, creating good analytical arguments with the student and working on their confidence at doing so.
Reading and breaking down texts can be tricky, and I’ll show the students ways in which they can do this and get the most out of their readings.
I will also go over vocabulary and grammar and helping them to find their own creative writing style.
