About Farid
Research Scientist and Project Manager in Digital Construction and ICT for Energy Efficiency (EE) at Loughborough University. Coming from a physics background (MSc) with more expertise in energy domain and obtained a PhD (2001) in Computer Science and Engineering and eight years research experience in Advanced Manufacturing technologies. during PhD studies I have developed a Non-destructive intelligent processing and monitoring tool ( hardware - novel optical fiber sensor and software) for light weight composites based components for reduction of energy consumption of civil aircrafts. I have also developed a number of methods and processes such non-contact 3D printing technology of polymeric material and a novel building services distribution system as a multi services integrated trunking, and decision support methods. I authored more than 35 papers and many more official documents. Successfully completed a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at Loughborough University.

Mar 2001 to present undertaking MSc & PhD supervisor and assistant in some cases, at Loughborough Uni., within BERG, in the domain of physics, ICT, Advanced Manufacturing and energy efficiency.
Sept 2001 to Mar 2007, I have also been active as an Assistant Lecturer at Loughborough Uni., in the subjects of Mechanical and Manufacturing Eng. and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.
Aug 2000 to Sept 2001, as an Assistant Lecturer at De Montfort University, in Mechanical Engineering courses.
