About Yolanda
My fascination with physics emerged during early schooling, driven by curiosity about how the universe functions and why phenomena occur. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Physics and an M.Sc in Applied Physics, developing expertise in both classical and modern physics. Over 10 years of teaching, I have guided students from foundational topics to advanced theoretical concepts, emphasising clarity, analytical thinking, and conceptual understanding.
I use a flexible and student-centred teaching approach. Lessons incorporate visual models, practical demonstrations, step-by-step problem-solving, and interactive discussion, allowing students to explore ideas and gain confidence in reasoning. I encourage critical questioning, experimentation, and independent thought while maintaining a supportive and structured learning environment.
Beyond teaching, I engage with current research, computational simulations, and experimental studies to keep lessons relevant and stimulating. I enjoy integrating real-world examples to illustrate concepts and inspire learners. Watching students gain mastery, confidence, and genuine enthusiasm for physics remains the most rewarding aspect of my career.

My physics lessons focus on making abstract concepts concrete and engaging. I cover classical mechanics, energy, waves, electromagnetism, optics, thermodynamics, and an introduction to quantum mechanics. Lessons combine visualisations, hands-on experiments, guided problem-solving, and conceptual discussion to enhance understanding and develop analytical and reasoning skills. Students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and apply concepts to real-world contexts in a supportive, interactive environment.
Beginners focus on understanding fundamental principles such as motion, forces, energy conservation, and simple electrical circuits using visual explanations and stepwise exercises. Intermediate learners explore derivations, experimental analysis, multi-step problem-solving, and applied physics scenarios. Advanced learners study quantum principles, relativity, and modern physics concepts, integrating computational tools and theoretical reasoning. Each session incorporates exercises, discussion, and review to ensure mastery and confidence.
Physics education goes beyond memorising formulas—it cultivates critical thinking, logical reasoning, and observational skills. Students develop the ability to approach problems methodically, make connections across topics, and apply knowledge to experiments or practical challenges. My goal is to help learners gain confidence, curiosity, and deep understanding while nurturing their scientific reasoning and independent problem-solving abilities.
