About Hazel

My relationship with physics began as a deep curiosity about how the universe functions. The realisation that everything — from falling leaves to distant stars — followed invisible laws sparked a passion that continues to shape my life and career. Over the past eight years, I have devoted myself to both studying and teaching physics, finding great fulfilment in guiding others toward the same sense of wonder and understanding. Teaching this subject allows me to share not only knowledge, but a perspective that sees the world as a beautifully interconnected system. I strive to make physics approachable and inspiring rather than intimidating. I understand that many students struggle with its abstract nature, so I focus on clarity, visualisation, and storytelling through science. I adapt each lesson to the student’s learning style, offering patience, encouragement, and structured guidance. Every question is welcomed, and curiosity is celebrated. I want my students to feel comfortable exploring the unknown and confident in their ability to uncover the answers. Beyond teaching, I remain immersed in scientific literature, research updates, and educational communities, ensuring that my understanding stays current and dynamic. Physics, to me, is a lifelong exploration — a journey of endless learning and revelation. Sharing this journey with students, watching them gain insight and confidence, is one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.

Physics unlocks an understanding of the universe, revealing the invisible forces and laws that govern everything from the smallest particles to the largest galaxies. My lessons are designed to take students on a journey of discovery, allowing them to see the world through a scientific lens. Rather than simply memorising formulas, learners explore the meaning behind them, understanding how motion, energy, force, light, and matter interact. From the very beginning, I focus on building strong conceptual foundations, using real-life examples and demonstrations to make complex theories tangible and engaging. Students develop their skills through carefully structured progressions. Beginners explore motion, basic forces, and energy concepts. Intermediate learners investigate waves, electricity, and magnetism, while advanced students examine thermodynamics, quantum principles, and modern physics topics. Problem-solving is central to every session, strengthening analytical thinking and logical application. I emphasise experimentation, encouraging students to predict, test, and reflect. Physics becomes an active experience, not just a theoretical subject written on a page. Beyond academic performance, physics nurtures curiosity and critical thinking. It teaches students to question reality and understand cause and effect with clarity. Many of my students have pursued careers in engineering, astronomy, and research. More importantly, they develop respect for scientific thinking and appreciation for the intricate balance of the universe. The goal of my lessons is not only to teach physics, but to awaken a lifelong desire to explore, understand, and contribute to the world of science.
