Piano and Saxophone Teacher with Experience in Classical and Jazz - Trained with Julliard- & Harvard Alumni & GRAMMY-Nominated Instructors!

Alex is such a patient and encouraging teacher, and it’s so convenient that he comes to my house for lessons.

What a wonderful instructor! Alex has been teaching my daughter for several years. It was so convenient to have Alex come to our home and not have to worry about driving and making the lesson on time!

As a long time musician but first time piano student, Alex has been a perfect teacher. He’s formed lessons around my personal musical goals while also teaching me things I didn’t know would be helpful. He’s a kind and patient educator who I would gladly refer to any potential piano student.

I've been taking jazz piano lessons with Alex since March 2024. He's a great subject matter expert and talented in sharing that knowledge with me. He explains things in a clear and concise manner and continues to push and challenge me to try new things. Though I've been a musician for a very long time, I learn new things in each lesson I take with Alex. It's been a true pleasure working with him.

I look forward to every piano lesson with Alex. Returning to the piano after decades was an intimidating through for me, but Alex was has been the most patient and supportive instructor. He worked with me to identify my goals and created a plan to help me achieve them! He has coached me on ways to steadily improve my skills and technique, while explaining the music theory behind different approaches to playing the piano. Our lessons are always fun, always encouraging and constructive! After every lesson I leave inspired to continue in my practice.

I’ve had the genuine pleasure of collaborating with pianist Alex Mayer, both on a professional sound stage and in his studio. Over the past several months, it has been an absolute delight to witness his brilliance as a musician. He brings a unique blend of technical skill and heartfelt musicality to every performance, enchanting everyone in the audience. Alex’s keen attention to detail and his ability to navigate a diverse range of styles truly set him apart in any ensemble.
What I appreciate even more is his kind spirit and collaborative nature; working with him is always a breeze. He exudes a sense of calm and professionalism that enhances every project we tackle together. With his artistry and wonderful character, Alex elevates the experience for everyone around him. He really is a rare and exceptional talent!

He’s knowledgeable about the subject and helpful when struggling with specific areas of the class material with his patient way of explanation.
