About Grace
I am a jazz piano tutor with 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Musicology, specialising in Piano History. My approach emphasises improvisation, comping, and building a sophisticated harmonic vocabulary. I integrate theory, ear training, transcription, and rhythm for a holistic learning experience.
Students work on improvisational fluency, chord voicings, comping patterns, and rhythmic accuracy. I provide transcription exercises and practical improvisation techniques to strengthen musical intuition. Lessons balance creativity, technique, and expressive playing.
I have taught Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate students, as well as professional jazz musicians seeking refinement. Each lesson is tailored to individual goals and musical interests. Jazz becomes a tool for both creativity and intellectual exploration.
