About Elena
I always find a personalized approach to every student, making sure they enjoy the lessons and encourage them to strive for the best. Some of my students become competition winners and receive highest scores on NYSSMA, while many are just studying for enjoyment. I believe that studying music is an integral part of children’s overall development and feel fortunate to be able to contribute to my students’ growth as human beings. When working with adults, I established meaningful long-lasting relationships and music lessons become an important part of my students’ lives.

My professional experience ranges from being a member of the Piano faculty at Michigan State University College of Music to maintaining a private studio in NYC, where I work with both children and adults, beginner to advanced levels. Having received my education both in Russia and US, I’ve developed my own method rooted in the combination of great Russian and American teaching traditions. My teaching style is inspiring and motivating. I am excellent at keeping students engaged and enthusiastic in the learning process, while ensuring their steady progress.
