Erin is an excellent teacher because of her experience, people skills, and passion for learning.

Erin is an extremely experienced teacher, having spent her undergraduate degree learning about how to teach, but also having spent the last eight years teaching piano to children out of her own private studio. This requires far more logistical organization than teaching in a music school, such as communication with parents, negotiation of rates, and organizing performances for her community in retirement homes. She also organizes a recital for her students at the end of every year, which teachers can just as easily not do, but she recognizes the effort that her students put into learning new music, and honours that effort by showcasing it to her other students and their parents.

She is also one of the most socially-apt people I know, with a strong drive not only to have positive relationships with people, but to actively maintain those relationships. Out of every single person I have ever known, she puts the greatest amount of effort into maintaining relationships with both her friends and her professional peers.

Erin simply likes to learn, and as a result of that, she has a willingness to admit when she doesn't know the answer to a question. When teaching anybody (but especially children), it is of the utmost importance to maintain humility, as teachers are typically major role models for students, and humility is an extremely important quality to nurture early on in life.
