About Serenity
My passion for piano developed through early exploration of classical and contemporary repertoire, inspiring me to pursue a B.Mus in Piano Performance and an M.Mus in Music Education. Over 10 years, I have guided students of varying ages and skill levels, helping them develop technique, musical expression, and creative confidence in a supportive environment.
I prioritise a student-centred approach, combining structured exercises, repertoire study, improvisation, sight-reading, and ensemble experiences. Lessons are interactive, motivating, and tailored to each student’s goals. I emphasise both technical accuracy and musical interpretation, fostering curiosity, creativity, and steady progress.
Beyond teaching, I actively perform, attend masterclasses, and explore new repertoire to enrich my instruction. Witnessing students grow from beginners into confident, expressive performers is deeply rewarding. Supporting their technical, emotional, and artistic development is the most fulfilling part of my work, allowing them to enjoy music as a lifelong journey.

Piano lessons are most effective when students cultivate technical mastery, musical expression, and interpretive creativity together. I emphasise finger independence, reading fluency, rhythm, articulation, phrasing, tone control, and dynamics. Lessons incorporate exercises, scales, sight-reading, duet practice, improvisation, and repertoire study to develop technical skill while nurturing musical intuition. Each session is designed to be engaging, encouraging, and adaptive to the learner’s individual style, fostering both confidence and artistic growth.
Lesson plans are customised for every student. Beginners focus on posture, hand coordination, simple melodies, and rhythmic accuracy. Intermediate students refine scales, sight-reading, chord progressions, pedalling technique, and expressive phrasing. Advanced learners explore interpretation, performance preparation, ensemble work, improvisation, and advanced repertoire. Feedback, practice guidance, and reflective exercises are integrated into every lesson to promote steady progress and skill retention.
Piano lessons also enhance creativity, focus, and emotional expression. Students learn to interpret music meaningfully, perform confidently, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music. My goal is to guide learners towards technical mastery, expressive artistry, and personal musical discovery, ensuring that every lesson nurtures skill, confidence, and joy in playing the piano.
