About Anila
Kosovar pianist, Anila Aliu, has rapidly established an international concert career throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Through her substantial social media presence and the lavish praise of critics across the globe, she has been identified as “a young star in the world of classical music” and lauded as the “golden girl who is breaking boundaries with her talent, giving Kosovo a voice all over the world.” Born in 2000, Ms. Aliu began her performance career at age seven, and in the intervening years she has captured top prizes at competitions across the globe, including first place and special awards at numerous competitions across the Balkans, as well as at the Golden Classical Music Awards Competition in New York, International Piano Competition Bangkok, Asia Pacific International Competition, and the International School of Culture and Art in Lugano, Switzerland. As a concerto soloist, she has performed with such orchestras as the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra, Balkan Mediterranean Orchestra in Italy, and Xalapa Fílarmonia Orchestra in Mexico. Her recital tours have spanned the United States, Albania, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia, France, Mexico, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Lithuania and Thailand, and she has been featured as a soloist and chamber musician at prominent festivals, including the Bonner Schumannfest, Frederic Chopin Piano Festival, Piano Loop Festival, and Klassik zu Gast bei Coppeneur festivals, among many others. Ms. Aliu has also participated in masterclasses with noteworthy pedagogues throughout Europe, including Natalia Trull, Sabine Weyer, Andreas Froelich, Stephan Moeller, Derek Han, Milana Chernyavskaya, Ruben Delibaltayan, Pierluigi Di Tella, and Dmitry Alexeev. Currently pursuing a Performance Diploma under the tutelage of Professor Adam Neiman at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, Ms. Aliu earned Bachelor and Master Degree in Piano Performance from the Hasan Prishtina University in Prishtina, Kosovo.
