About Isla
Music has been an important part of my life for many years, and it inspired me to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Music before completing a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance. During my 8 years of teaching, I have worked with learners of different ages and abilities, helping them grow both technically and musically.
My teaching approach combines patience, structure, and encouragement. I believe every student learns differently, so I adjust my methods to match their pace and goals. Whether a learner is preparing for performances or playing for personal enjoyment, I provide supportive guidance throughout the journey.
Outside lessons, I enjoy exploring new repertoire, collaborating with other musicians, and studying different musical styles. These experiences help me keep lessons engaging and relevant. I love seeing students develop confidence, independence, and a genuine love for music through consistent learning.

My piano lessons focus on helping students become comfortable and confident at the keyboard from the very beginning. I teach finger independence, note reading, rhythm accuracy, sight reading, chord patterns, and musical coordination through clear and supportive instruction. Lessons are designed to make learning enjoyable while developing strong foundations that last.
As students progress, we explore dynamics, phrasing, duet playing, pedal control, and performance skills. I adapt each lesson to individual goals and learning styles, ensuring that every student feels challenged without becoming overwhelmed. Regular practice strategies help learners improve steadily and efficiently.
I enjoy helping students who want to play modern songs, accompany others, perform confidently, or simply enjoy music as a lifelong skill. My lessons encourage creativity, consistency, and musical understanding. Every session is structured to build confidence while making piano learning rewarding and enjoyable.
