About Sahana
My musical journey began with a passion for piano performance and education. I earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, focusing on technique, pedagogy, and expressive playing. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided learners toward confident and fluent musicianship. My teaching style emphasizes clarity, encouragement, and steady progress. I adapt lessons carefully to each learner’s pace, helping them build confidence and musical understanding. Outside teaching, I remain active in music through performance and study. Teaching piano is meaningful because it helps learners connect deeply with music. Supporting students as they grow into confident pianists is the most rewarding part of my work.

Piano learning becomes rewarding when students develop fluency from the very first lessons. My teaching approach focuses on finger independence, reading accuracy, rhythm stability, and coordination through practical, engaging exercises. I help learners connect notation with sound so that reading becomes natural rather than stressful. Lessons include hands-on playing, rhythmic training, and simple duet work to build confidence and musical connection.
Lesson content adapts to individual goals. Beginners focus on posture, basic hand coordination, simple rhythms, and reading fluency. Developing learners expand into dynamic control, articulation, and expressive phrasing. More advanced learners refine tone balance, coordination, and ensemble awareness. Each lesson builds technique while encouraging musical enjoyment and confidence.
Piano lessons also support emotional expression and focus. Learners gain confidence as they see progress in reading and performance. Many develop a strong sense of musical independence. My goal is to help learners feel fluent, expressive, and comfortable at the piano.
