About Christopher
A Master’s-trained jazz saxophonist, I’ve performed with artists such as Gregory Porter and Russell Watson. I love helping musicians of all ages and levels, from those just starting out to students preparing for exams or auditions. My lessons blend strong fundamentals (like tone, rhythm, and ear-training) with creativity, ensuring you not only progress but also enjoy the process. Having taught online for years, I’ve seen how flexible, focused sessions can foster confidence and consistency—no matter where you’re learning. With a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and a Master's Degree from Codarts Rotterdam, where I graduated top of my year, I bring over a decade of teaching experience to students of all ages and skill levels. My lessons—available in 30-minute or 1-hour sessions—are designed to be relaxed, enjoyable, and tailored to your goals, whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time, preparing for ABRSM exams, or aiming for music college auditions. My Approach: I focus on helping you build a beautiful, confident sound through instrument fundamentals like breath control and technique, while encouraging creativity by understanding music by ear, not just as dots on a page. Lessons blend structure with flexibility: we’ll work on pieces you love, explore improvisation, and dive into the music that inspires you. I believe enjoying what you play is just as important as mastering it—after all, music is about connection and expression! Pro Performer, Personalised Guidance: Having played alongside artists like Gregory Porter, Gordon Goodwin, and the BBC Big Band, as well as a Guest Artist for the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, I share practical insights to help you thrive in any musical setting. But what fuels my teaching is seeing students grow—from guiding beginners to their first notes to mentoring advanced players into top music programmes.
