About Mason
I've performed in many settings including as part of a pit band for a musical (where I also arranged parts of the instrumentation), and working full-time in a function band. I've been teaching one-to-one piano and keyboard lessons since 2019, ranging from various ages and abilities. I also have six months' classroom experience teaching music (both KS3 and GCSE) at a secondary level. I have also recently completed my music master's at BIMM Birmingham in Composition, leaving with Distinction level. I have 3+ years of musical arrangement, with a vast understanding of different forms of sheet music.

My approach to teaching is rooted in enjoyment and engagement. The lessons can be tailored to the student's needs, ranging from a thirty-minute lesson to a sixty-minute lesson. I've been playing Piano since the age of five, and have 18 years' experience. I have a Distinction level Master's in Popular Music Practice (Composition) and have my Grade Eight in Classical Piano.

My daughter (aged 7) has been learning piano with Mason for 10 weeks now. His fun energetic and engaging teaching methods are great in supporting young minds learning and growth! She adores him and often asked when lessons would start again during lockdown, she really missed it. She’s so passionate about music now definitely recommend Mr Mason he’s great fun for the kids and it keeps them off the TV screens!
I highly recommend Mason to any aspiring musicians, his conscientiousness, knowledge and enthusiasm for music is beyond exemplary. Throughout all of the lessons I had with him he encouraged me to overcome any and all struggles I had, I often suffer with performance anxiety, at all times he was empathetic and understanding and with his help I definitely gained more confidence in this area. His general demeanour is so calming and supportive he truly cares for his students and motivates us to reach goals we never thought we would.
Mason is a wonderful teacher with a great amount of patience! He is very good at encouraging students to do their best and create great music.
