About Joshua
I am a first-year student at Keble College, University of Oxford, reading Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. Having only recently come through the application process myself, I am able to guide my students through the application process and help give them the best chance possible of successfully obtaining a place at Oxford.
I have over 100 hours of experience tutoring in person, and from this experience, I have found that the most effective way for students to improve is through engaged practice. My lessons are focused in this way; I will walk the student through a particular method or topic before allowing them to attempt questions themselves and offering constructive hints when they are stuck. This also enables me to quickly gauge the level of a student and provide further help and questions most suitable for them. The lessons will vary depending on how confident a student is with a topic, varying from basic topic introduction to consolidation through exam practice.

An application for PPE at Oxford consists of three main steps:
1) Personal statement
2) TSA
3) Interviews
In my lessons, I offer help with each of these three main steps. I can advise the student how to go about writing an Oxford-level personal statement, I can aid them in preparation for the TSA with one-on-one sessions, and I can also perform practice interviews to simulate what the student would experience in an Oxford interview.
