About Gemma
Hello! I’m Gemma, a fully qualified UK Primary Teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in reputable UK schools, including time as a Deputy Headteacher. I also work as a KS2 SATs marker, which gives me unique insight into exam expectations and marking criteria. This background allows me to provide expert guidance tailored to help your child succeed. I specialise in tutoring children aged 5 to 12 in Maths, English, Year 2 and Year 6 SATs, and 11+ Entrance Exams. My tutoring style is warm, patient, and personalised — I believe every child deserves to feel supported and confident in their learning journey. All lessons are delivered online through a secure platform, combining interactive teaching methods with curriculum-aligned materials and exam techniques. I pride myself on creating a professional, safe, and encouraging environment where students can thrive. My tutoring approach is warm, supportive, and highly personalised. I create a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow in confidence. Each lesson is tailored to suit the child’s ability, learning style, and individual goals. I combine curriculum-aligned teaching with interactive resources, test-style questions, and educational games to keep sessions engaging and effective. I also build in plenty of praise and encouragement — celebrating every small success to keep motivation high. As a KS2 SATs examiner, I bring insider knowledge on how these tests are marked and exactly how to prepare students for success. Lessons are 60 minutes, taught online only, using a secure virtual classroom. I make full use of digital tools and interactive resources to bring the learning to life — all while your child stays comfortable at home.
