About Raheeda

I have been a qualified primary school teacher since 2011 and have taught in a range of settings, including an Outstanding primary school, as well as teaching abroad. These experiences have given me a wide understanding of different learning styles and how to support children from different backgrounds.

Alongside my classroom experience, I have also homeschooled my own children, which has given me a deeper understanding of how learning feels from a parent’s perspective as well as a teacher’s. This has shaped my approach to tutoring and strengthened my ability to tailor lessons to individual needs.

I became a teacher because I enjoy helping children grow in confidence and realise what they are capable of. I find it especially rewarding to support students who may feel unsure of themselves and help them reach a point where they feel proud of their progress.

In my lessons, I aim to create a calm, supportive environment where children feel comfortable, understood, and encouraged to improve at their own pace.

About the lesson

I focus on building confidence as well as academic progress. In 11+ preparation, I don’t just go through content — I teach children how to think through questions, manage time, and stay calm under exam conditions.

Every child learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their needs. Some need more structure and step-by-step guidance, while others benefit from challenge and exam practice.

My lessons are structured but supportive, and I always aim to make students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes — because that’s how real progress happens.

For 11+ students, I focus on:

* Clear strategies for verbal reasoning
* Strong foundations in maths and English
* Exam technique and timing
* Building confidence under pressure

My goal is not just improvement, but helping students feel prepared and capable on exam day.
