Private, Nationally Certified tutor for English as a New Language and English Language Arts with over 6 years of experience in Westchester, NY, and Southern CT.

Shauna has been tutoring my son, Declan, and we have had such a positive experience working with her. What I appreciate most is the individualized attention she gives him. She takes the time to understand his strengths, where he needs extra support, and how he learns best rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Shauna is especially strong in ELA, reading, writing, and executive function skills. She has helped Declan not only with his schoolwork, but also with organization, planning, and developing better habits as a student. I love that her goal is to help students “learn how to learn,” because those are skills that will benefit him well beyond a single class or assignment.

She is patient, encouraging, and thoughtful in the way she works with him, and Declan feels comfortable with her. We have been very happy with the support she has given him and would absolutely recommend Shauna to other families looking for a caring, knowledgeable tutor who truly tailors her teaching to the individual student.
