About Robin
I am a passionate and highly qualified mathematics professional with many years of classroom teaching experience in prominent independent schools and extensive experience of individual tutoring. My tutoring strategies are designed around the individual needs of the student, helping them to achieve success by guiding learning so as to awaken a passion for mathematics. I hold degrees in mathematics from both Oxford University and Stanford University. I was awarded Double First-Class Honours from Balliol College, University of Oxford, for my undergraduate (MMath) degree in mathematics. At Balliol, I was also the recipient of the Markby Scholarship and Jenkyns Memorial Prizes for mathematics. I held the Balliol Organ Scholarship and a George Fentham University Scholarship from the George Fentham Trust. My second mathematics degree (MS) is from Stanford University, California, where I held a graduate assistantship and was a course assistant to undergraduates during my period of study. I also hold further degrees in Philosophy (MA, with Distinction) from King’s College London, where I was awarded a Sorabji Scholarship, and more recently in Psychology (MSc, with Distinction) from Manchester Metropolitan University. I am an accredited member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS). I pride myself on unparalleled subject knowledge, the ability to quickly identify and adapt creative approaches that best suit the needs of my students, and always providing mathematics tutoring of unsurpassed quality. Whether you want help with IB, GCSE or A-level preparation, or more specific support in algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, analysis, mathematical methods or applied mathematics, my services will help you progress in your journey to deepen your understanding and to become a better learner. I have ten years of classroom teaching experience at prominent UK independent secondary schools, teaching pupils of all ages and abilities, and extensive one-one tutoring experience, including online teaching. I offer tutoring services for pupils studying towards IB (MYP and DP, mathematics and TOK), GCSE and A level, for those preparing for University Entry in courses involving Mathematics, Engineering and Physics, including admissions tests such as the SAT, ACT, MAT and STEP papers, and for existing undergraduate students.
