About Sam
I am a 16 year old, Year 11 saxophone player, based in Glen Waverley, Melbourne. I have been playing saxophone for the last 5 years, and am a part of my school's topmost Wind and Jazz bands. I am the youngest Vice Music Captain at my school. I am equally competent in playing both alto and baritone sax.
During the last 5 years, I have participated in multiple concerts including the NEVR Youth Concert and the ANZAC Day Celebration March & Ceremony. I have represented my school (with my band) at the Australian International Music Festival, where I performed at the Sydney Opera house; and had the privilege to conduct a piece at the open-air concerts at Maritime Museum and Manly Beach in Sydney. I am good at multiple music styles, including, Classical, Jazz, Latin, Funk, Romantic and blues. Outside of school, I founded and lead a music band. Happy to provide any references on request.

I will teach basic concepts; music theory; finger placements, movements & sequence; breathing techniques; reading sheet music; improvisation techniques; posture and instrument care. I can also assist students with the development and fine tuning of any pieces they are learning in school.
I will start by assessing the student's level of proficiency and will structure my lessons accordingly. A typical lesson will consist of a warm-up, recap of the previous lesson and progress on any current pieces to completion (which may take multiple classes). I will also provide additional homework and areas to practise ahead of next lesson.
