I'm an IT professional and passionate mathematics tutor with over 7 years of experience teaching algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus to middle school and high school students. Teaching methods and techniques
My teaching method is centred around student engagement and critical thinking. I believe that students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process, so I use a variety of teaching methods and techniques, such as:
Interactive lectures: I use lectures to introduce new concepts and theories, but I also engage students by asking questions and encouraging discussion.
Problem-solving activities: I believe that the best way to learn mathematics is by doing mathematics. That's why I include a variety of problem-solving activities in my lessons.
Typical lesson plan
A typical lesson plan of mine might look like this:
Review and Revision: I start by reviewing the previous lesson's material to make sure that students have a solid foundation.
Introduction: I introduce the new concept or theory of the lesson.
Examples: I work through a few examples to show students how to apply the new concept or theory.
Problem-solving activities: I give students a variety of problem-solving activities to practice applying the new concept or theory.
Review: I end the lesson by reviewing the key concepts of the lesson and answering any questions that students have.
What sets me apart as a tutor
I am a patient and enthusiastic Math tutor who is passionate about helping students succeed. I am also able to tailor my teaching style to the individual needs of each student. I am confident that I can help students to improve their math skills and knowledge.
Who the lessons are for
I tutor middle school and high school students from 7th grade to 11th grade. I can tutor students in a variety of mathematics subjects, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
