About Laurel
I graduated from Bennington College with a degree in Theater, but also studied writing and poetry. I have professionally written and performed everything from stand-up and sketch comedy, to spoken word poetry and autobiographical essays. I recently wrote and performed a full-length, experimental, autobiographical show, and toured it in Chicago and Philadelphia. I write and perform new work at least monthly. My work often incorporates different mediums, such as videos and animations to accompany my writing. My art is my ultimate passion, and I can’t imagine my life without it. For me, writing is a puzzle; you have all these pieces of story and emotion and imagery, and you have to figure out how to piece it all together. I can help you unlock the stories waiting inside you, and help you communicate them in a way that only you can. I can help you piece it all together.

Let’s get those creative juices flowing! Creative writing can be a daunting and vulnerable process, but also incredibly rewarding. You get to choose what rules to make or break, and share parts of yourself you might not otherwise be able to share. I can help you generate ideas, break through writers block, and figure out the best form for the story you want to tell. I have experience in many forms of writing from the traditional to the experimental, from the scientific to the autobiographical. You have stories only you can tell. Those stories are important and need to be shared! Lets break through you old patterns and insecurities so you can be the most confident and creative writer you can be!
