About Georgina
I'm a friendly and patient British-born Chinese pianist and teacher, having lived and taught both in China and the UK.
After graduating from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, I completed my Master's degree at Royal Northern College of Music with a Distinction. During my time at RWCMD and RNCM, I studied piano performance under the tutelage of Richard Ormrod and James Kirby, where I was supported by the Richard Newitt Fund and the Anderson Powell Prize.
Since pursuing music further at the conservatoire, I have enjoyed performing in different venues, including the Steinway Hall in London and Dora Stoutzker Hall in Cardiff. During my studies, I was selected to participate in numerous masterclasses with international artists such as Piers Lane, Jonathan Biss, Cédric Tiberghien, Llŷr Williams and Steven Osborne. Having learned and worked with many highly acclaimed pianists, I have gained more insights through these experiences and hope to pass on these knowledge and skills to my students.

I teach in a supportive and encouraging way, working with students of all ages and backgrounds to their fullest potential. I believe having a holistic approach to learning the piano and music would hugely benefit the student in becoming an all-rounded musician.
I aim to tailor lessons to adapt to each student's needs and progress, making sure lessons are both effective and engaging. While guiding students in the direction they wish, I also encourage independence in one's learning and development to improve their confidence and ability to explore music on their own.
My diverse upbringing shaped me into a bilingual and adaptable teacher, offering piano lessons in Chinese if preferred.
