About Nikolai
With more than 20 years of experience as a violin tutor, I specialize in teaching college students who want focused and effective learning. I believe that strong fundamentals and smart practice lead to confident performance. My teaching approach combines creativity, accountability, and mentorship.
I focus on building correct posture, bow technique, finger accuracy, rhythm control, and intonation. I also encourage students to think critically about their playing and understand how to improve independently. I use innovative methods such as practice breakdowns, slow practice strategies, guided listening sessions, and performance-based exercises. These tools help students practice efficiently and gain confidence.
I also support students with music theory basics and sight-reading. Accountability is very important in my lessons. I help students set realistic goals, follow consistent practice routines, and monitor progress regularly. I provide clear and encouraging feedback to keep students motivated.

In addition to violin lessons, I also teach supporting subjects like music theory, rhythm reading, ear training, sight-reading, and performance skills. My aim is to help students grow into confident musicians.
