About Jessica
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Angelo State University with a Bachelor's degree in English Linguistics and also received my Master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I am approaching one year of experience as a college writing tutor and also tutored ACT reading and writing for high school students while finishing my undergraduate degree. As a college tutor, I am embedded in English 1301 courses to provide both in-class support to students and have extra knowledge of assignments to better help outside of the classroom. In addition, I have a year of experience as a paraprofessional for students from elementary to high school. I have also worked with students on the autism spectrum and feel confident in working with a wide variety of students overall. As a tutor, my goal is to work students to independence. I provide support that guides students in the right direction and give them the tools to eventually succeed on their own. I like to plan lessons for students that include all different styles of learning, whether that be visual, auditory, through reading or writing, or by doing. I have worked with students from 5 years old to 50 years old and am happy to help anyone who needs it.
