About Jackie
I have been teaching dance for thirteen years, and my experience ranges from creative dance for young children to ballet academies to adult community classes to college dance programs. I love working with beginners to advanced dancers. I grew up in a ballet academy and began pursuing modern and contemporary dance more seriously during my undergraduate years at Skidmore College. I danced professionally in New York and various cities in Texas, dancing for multiple small companies, creating my own choreography, and freelancing. I received my Master's from The Ohio State University in 2023 and taught in their dance program all throughout my Master's Program. I currently teach dance to children and college students while co-directing an artist collective based out of Columbus, OH.

I am a student-centered teacher with experience in multiple forms of dance. I hold a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Fine Arts in dance, and I have taught students from ages 2 to adults. Typically, I begin private lessons with a warm-up and a check-in on our goals to make sure that the lesson I have planned will help my student meet those goals. I have a holistic and injury-preventative approach. I also offer sessions for cross-training and conditioning to help my students meet their dance performance goals. When it comes to teaching choreography, I structure lessons based on each individual's needs. Sometimes this looks like acting as a second set of eyes for someone who is choreographing on themselves, or it can look like a series of games and tasks to help a student spark inspiration or ideas.
