About Arianne
Starting in first grade, I was told not to become a teacher, but by the time I reached high school, I found myself tutoring, then eventually, in Music Education. I was also part of the SJYS Advanced Flute Choir. Throughout college, I gained diverse teaching experiences, working at 10 elementary schools, coaching middle and high school students, offering lessons to beginners on all wind instruments, and performing regularly. I also worked at KFC during this time.
My passion for teaching was reflected in my students' successes, including helping them gain spots in honor ensembles, youth groups, and college music programs. But I also loved working with students who simply wanted to explore music, like those who enjoyed playing video game tunes.
I had the privilege of studying under Cathy Payne, a flute/piccolo player with the SF Symphony and a flute coach at the SF Conservatory. I also performed at Flute by the Sea with Ray Furuta's flute choir, "Flutie Tooties." Throughout my journey, I've attended masterclasses with renowned flutists such as Denis Bouriakov, Jasmine Choi, Viviana Guzman, Leon Buyse, Carol Wincenc, and Julietta Curenton.

Our first lesson will be about me learning about your interests, goals, and what level you are in your playing. My goal for you is to learn multiple genres of pieces but also keep in mind what you like to play. We will work on your technique and fundamentals and I will show you how it applies to your music. My goal is for you to be your own teacher. I will help you with learning how to scaffold your practice so that you can feel improvement in between lessons. After all your hard work, I would like to have at least two recitals with you to showcase your talent!
