About Donna
Here is why I am an effective teacher.
I've taught students of all ages and all subjects for over 40 years.
I love working with young students as well as adults. I currently facilitate a workshop for adult jazz vocalists.
I perform regularly with some of the best local jazz musicians in New York's Hudson Valley .
We gig most times without rehearsals, experiencing the magic of jazz, but with charts and understandings that make this truly possible. It helps to know what you are doing in order to avoid the incredible train wreck a song can become when unrehearsed.

I can help you grow as a singer!
A Typical lesson begins with exercises using the LoVetri Method, designed to smooth out and strengthen your vocal range.
Many lessons would then move to scat or free singing, borrowing from the teaching techniques of Jay Clayton, Jazz Master Singer and Mentor to many vocalists. Students will understand that "Listening" is so important to developing improvisation chops.
Then we would work on a piece together bringing it to performance level thereby covering many aspects of performance - Leading the Band, Charts, Stage Presence, Keys, etc.
