About Ryan Maxwell
My education is in math in math and physics so I have a really strong background in these subjects, as well as stats and computer science at the graduate/research level. I’m also fluent in Python, R, and SQL, with expert skills in the Python data science stack and strong skills in the R data science stack.
I am well-versed in most major machine learning algorithms and techniques, as well as deep learning, including convolutional neural networks and recurrent networks. I’m currently building my skills in more advanced SOTA DNN models through projects, such as generative diffusion networks, temporal fusion transformers for time series prediction, and deep reinforcement learning.
I have been tutoring and supporting learners for over 15 years, with many satisfied clients. Please message me for testimonials! My style is very patient, flexible and collaborative, and I make use of a curated set of tools for online learning collaboration. I am also very relaxed about the business side of thing (no cancellation or reschedule fees, no obligation to use entire time booked, etc).

I have been helping people learn professionally for 15 years, at least 8 of them totally online. I’ve worked with learners of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, from university students to career professionals to startup founders.
My experience and background have led me develop a highly customized approach to helping people learn. I offer all the services a traditional tutor might; explaining concepts, teaching problem-solving and study techniques etc. But there are a lot of other things I offer that go beyond that.
I support learners holistically through a range of services - help with exercises, preparing for exams, understanding concepts, answering questions between meetings, designing curricula, creating custom exercises or projects, giving personalized feedback, setting up computing environments, troubleshooting, and recommending and curating learning resources.
I also provide a lot of the things a coach usually provides: guidance, support, focus, accountability and motivation.
