About Grant
I am 42 years old from Auckland NZ. I grew up in a sporting family. Always cricket, rugby and badminton strongly within mum and dad and my 3 brothers. I felt a little out of place until my mum felt I should do something. I started with recorder and after two years at around 9 started from the first note on a piano. My teacher was absolutely wonderful. She took me through to grade 7 in royal schools of music. I felt like I had accomplished something but not quite what I was looking to do. One day she put Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen in front of me and she taught me the whole thing, one bar at a time.
During High School I was known pretty strongly as a great piano player but after an argument with a mate one day I grabbed an acoustic guitar and (I'm glad it was in tune) attempted playing those chord boxes above the music. I accomplished learning E and A all by myself! Guitar seemed to come easily tome. Suddenly, not long after I was playing Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin. I also realized the DNA of many a great song is in these classics. I formed many different high school Bands and played fair share of shows. Coming out of high school one of those bands became a successful saught after cover band. Nowdays I'm playing many tribute shows, cover bands and have many original projects going.

Excellent! Grant has a plan for what to teach me each lesson, so I'm learning something new each time, and is really adaptable to what I'm finding the most enjoyable. He's gotten me out of my rut and I'm learning heaps.
