About Grace
My goal as a teacher is to guide my students in finding their passion for music, sustain their excitement about their instrument, and give them the confidence to try new things and grow. Over the last 8 years I've taught private lessons to over 200 students, and I've found that I learn as much from my students as they learn from me. They have taught me patience, punctuality and bravery which has inspired me to continue pursuing music, as they do. It has brought me so much joy to see some of my students go on to join bands, record their own songs, perform in recitals and plays, and set out to pursue music in college.

As a music teacher, I approach my lessons by dividing the time we have equally between practicing theory/technique, and learning songs. This gives my students an opportunity to perform the music they are inspired by, while building a foundational understanding of music theory to support them as they grow. I've spent the last 10 years working as a songwriter, recording artist and performer and I believe this experience influences my teaching style because along with incorporating technique and formal training into my lessons- I love to share and hone the art of songwriting in my students and help them explore their creativity. I have taught all ages in the past in classroom, group and private settings- and teach advanced piano and voice, intermediate guitar/ukelele, and beginner bass students.
