About Helgaardt
As a University student navigating high-level corporate accounting, I understand the importance of clear, professional English communication. My teaching style is rooted in the Kumon principles of discipline and systematic mastery. I am interested in teaching English FAL because I believe every student can master the language if it is presented as a logical system rather than a series of confusing exceptions. Many students struggle with English FAL because they lack a solid foundation in the "mechanics" of the language. My lessons focus on Language Logic. We break down the English language into manageable, logical components—from basic parts of speech in Grade 5 to complex transactional writing and literature analysis in Grade 12.
I specialize in helping students navigate the specific requirements of the CAPS and IEB syllabuses. We focus heavily on Paper 1 (Language in Context) by mastering the rules of grammar, and Paper 2 (Literature) by learning how to structure an essay that markers actually want to read. Every session uses an interactive digital whiteboard to map out sentence structures and essay outlines, and sessions are recorded so students can review my feedback 24/7.
