About Natalya
Ukrainian Canadian opera singer and multimedia creator Natalya Gennadi is a 2024 New Voices program curator and creative director at Soundstreams, and 2023 Civic Engagement Artist in Residence with Pacific Opera Victoria.
Her critically acclaimed performance of the world premiere of the opera Oksana G with Tapestry Opera got nominated for the prestigious Dora Mavor Award.
Ms Gennadi’s recent engagements include debuts in the title roles of Cherubini’s Medea and Adriana Lecouvreur with Toronto VoiceBox Opera in Concert, as well as Violetta in La Traviata, Mimi in La Boheme, Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with various Canadian opera companies. Natalya made her Pacific Opera Victoria debut as Gerhilde in Wagner’s Die Walkure this past fall.
Since 2020 Natalya has been a returning artist with Tapestry Opera’s community engagement initiative Box Concerts and is a part of Concerts in Care project as a performer since 2019.
Ms Gennadi is an avid supporter of the Ukrainian community, Ukrainian Art Song Project Summer Institute alumna, volunteer, educator and the recipient of the REACH Development Grant from the Shevchenko Foundation.
