About George

I am a professional Oud player, composer, and instructor, graduated from the prestigious Arabic Oud House in Cairo under the supervision of the renowned Oud master Naseer Shamma.

My musical journey is devoted to exploring the depth and beauty of Arab music and sharing it through performance, composition, and structured teaching. I combine authentic classical foundations with a modern pedagogical approach, helping students understand not only how to play the Oud, but how to truly feel and express its musical language.

About the lesson

Professional Oud Teacher – Arab Maqams & Classical Melodies

I am a passionate Oud player and instructor dedicated to sharing the beauty and depth of Arab music with students from all backgrounds, especially non-Arab learners who wish to understand the authentic maqam tradition.

My lessons focus on the Arab maqams, helping students grasp their character, emotional colors, and classical repertoire, while also integrating modern technical approaches that I mastered at the Arab Oud House in Cairo.

Each lesson is carefully structured according to the student’s level. We work step by step on:
– Proper Oud technique and hand positioning
– Understanding maqam structure and modulation
– Rhythm and traditional melodies
– Improvisation (taqasim) and ornamentation

Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced musician, my goal is to help you build a strong foundation, develop musical confidence, and truly express yourself through the Oud.

What students can expect:

Personalized lessons tailored to your level and goals

Guidance on Arab maqams, scales, and rhythms

Classical melodies and repertoire, with optional modern adaptations

Practical exercises to develop technique, ear training, and improvisation skills

Friendly and encouraging environment for learning at your own pace
Languages: English, Arabic (native)
Feel free to book your first lesson and start your journey into the world of the Oud
